I grew up in South Bend, Indiana. After retiring from the South Bend Police Department in 2006, I packed up my bags and migrated to Southwest Florida, where I worked for the Marco Island Police Department until retiring in May 2016. Eighteen of my twenty years with the SBPD were spent primarily as a sniper on the S.W.A.T. team. I’ve been fortunate enough to cover seven Presidential details. My law enforcement career meant no two days on the job were the same. My work has given me the ability to adapt to any environment and circumstance. There’s no such thing as a terrible day behind a camera in my world. One might say I’ve traded ‘trigger time” for “shutter time.”
My interest in photography started back in high school. I enjoyed creating memories by capturing events and special moments on my camera. There was something special about looking at a photo and having it instantly bring back memories as if it just happened.
Details, details, details. I listen and I over-deliver. I’m not a hobbyist photographer, this is my profession. I have state-of-the-art equipment for whatever the job calls for. As you can imagine, covering a wedding or family photo session is very different than trying to catch an eagle landing on top of a 300’ church steeple on a hazy day or shooting a lily in the Everglades that’s blossoming early in the morning when there’s not much light. I’m equipped for all occasions and can handle a big or small event. I work with individuals, families, weddings, groups and corporations. A good portion of my work is related to commissioned jobs involving wildlife, concerts during the day and night, boating events, parades, holiday events and so much more. I’ve been chosen by both JW Marriott Marco Island Resorts and the Hilton Marco Island Resorts as their premier photographer. That’s not a group that they select. I’m honored to say I’m the only one in that category. I’ve won two National Awards with the AFCP, I’ve covered events that I’ve been hired for in other countries including Mexico, Ireland, Germany, Austria and Italy. There’s no job too big or too small. Our goal is make all experiences fun and comfortable and deliver more than you asked for. We build relationships with our clients, often remaining in contact long after the photo session. We’re thrilled when our clients tell us, “This is the funnest photo shoot we’ve ever had!” or “Thank you for making us and our kids so comfortable.” People trust me and so can you.
My work has been published in numerous publications and magazines such as South Bend Tribune, The News-Press (Ft. Myers), Coastal Breeze News, Marco Eagle, Marco Sun Times, Marco Scene Magazine, Medjugorje Magazine, GulfShore Life, & Ave Maria University.
